Cesar Trasobares will present an illustrated overview of Ana Mendieta’s development as an artist with an emphasis on the work she executed in Miami from 1981 to 1983. The talk will cover the contexts of Mendieta’s body of work (site, performance, video, drawing and sculpture), including references to the work of other artists as well as examples of the historic and anthropological sources of her iconography.
