Retrospective Exhibition Julio Larraz: The Kingdom We Carry Inside to open at the Coral Gables Museum on December 1st, 2021.
The Coral Gables Museum is pleased to announce the upcoming exhibition, Julio Larraz: The Kingdom We Carry Inside. Taking over the main three temporary galleries of the Coral Gables Museum, the show is the first museum retrospective of the artist in the United States and will be on view from December 1st, 2021 to April 30th, 2022.

Artist Julio Larraz (b. Havana, Cuba, 1944) is one of the most influential figures in Latin American art today. Throughout a career of six decades, institutional recognition has gone hand in hand with the admiration and following of colleagues and many younger painters from all over the world that praise his mastery of technique, color and light, and the poetry and subtlety of his work. “A major recognition of Larraz’s work was long overdue, and we are very honored and excited to be working with the artist and with the Julio Larraz Foundation in this retrospective exhibition,” says the Museum’s Executive Director John Allen.
